Braking the Chain of Negativity
In our life,
we often go through what we may call agitations, disharmony. and what we tend to
do is afflict the people around us with our bad vibes, and those people who are
around us; our children, our wife, our co-workers, our neighbors, they all get
affected, and then they pass on to others their own bad vibes, their own misery.
Its a never ending process, the chain of misery.
This cannot be the right way to live our lives. We should aspire to live in
peace and harmony. We as social beings we always have to get in contact with
other people, and the more we learn how to live in a pleasant wholeness the
better and easier our day to day conduct will be. But how?
For one to be able to change the patterns that lead him to negativity, and live
in disharmony, he must understand the reasons for his negativity. The real
reasons. Not those that he believes to be the reasons, but the core to the
pattern, the seeds of disharmony. Its very easy to blame others for ones misery.
The neighbor who did not move his car from where he should not have parked it,
or ones son who came home with a low grade from school, or the guy who just
"dropped on" the surfer while he was taking off on a wave. These are all
excuses, but never the real source of our disharmony and agitations. We cannot
control all that happens around us in life. We can't arrange for things not to
happen around us. Bad things are bound to happen.
The real reason for one disharmony lies within oneself. The things that happen
around us are bound to happen, but how we react to the those things, that we can
change. But how can we change how we react? How do we learn how to control our
minds. If one can really look at the source of our negativity, it will always
lie in our mind. The more negativity we produce, the more negativity we will
breed, and the more negative we will be. We actually engrave our minds with
negativity. We scar it, and until we do not learn how to change this process, we
will always go around full with negativity, disharmony, misery, and we will
always afflict others with it too.
We have to learn to look at the reality within, and see it for real, for what it
is. The only problem is that to learn how to look within takes discipline, it
takes learning a technique that works. One has to learn how to remain balanced
to what happens within. No matter what it is that is happening, one has to know
how to see it, and not react to it. One has to learn how to live in the present.
What has happened in the past is gone and what will happen in the future one
does not know, but if one lives good in the present, and the present is always
good this will project into the future and when the future comes it will be good
too. Once all this will become the pattern in life, all the rest will start to
follow. Once one cuts the chain of negative reactions within the mind, then the
negativity inside and outside will start to loose its strength, and will not
control ones life any more.
Therefore, one has to find a meditation form that teaches how to observe within.
How to look into the mind and how to tame the mind. How to learn to be objective
to all that arises in the mind, how to see it and not react to it. This is how
one brakes the chain of reactions.
Every meditation form that can teach this, is a good meditation form. Every
meditation form that teaches this, will teach about the low of impermanence, and
about detachment. About the universal low, and about the importance of morality
in life, because this all goes hand in hand with braking the chain of
negativity. How can one live an immoral life and expect that negativity will not
follow? how can one be attached to material things, to thoughts or believes, and
still be able to not react when the foundation of his attachments is under
threat? How can one live in contrast to the universal low, and still have
harmony?
So try and learn how to live in harmony, how to live a moral life, and how to
see the truth. The reality for what it is, and not what you want it to be. Learn
how to see things objectively, how to live in the present, and how to give to
society positivity, love and harmony.
